In second grade we go to the science lab once a week to explore hands on what science is and how to experiment with many materials. This is in addition to classroom time which includes introductions, journaling, discussions, follow up and closure related to topics covered in the lab. The following lists some topics covered along with web sites used for further exploration.
* Study the world around them using their 5 senses
* Study and use the Scientific Method and Engineering Design throughout all topics
* Matter
* Plants
* Earth Changes
* Biomes & Inhabitants
* Predator/Prey Relationships, Food Chains & Food Webs
