We typically take two field trips every year...
In the fall we go to the City Hall to learn about the city government, what jobs are provided by them, and take part in a mock city council meeting.
In the spring we go to the Bradley Home and Chippewa Nature Center to learn about the past and what it was like to live in the city versus on a farm. We also do some comparing and contrasting with the past and present time.
Parent volunteers are needed to chaperone both field trips. The only field trip that drivers are needed for is the Bradley Home/Chippewa Nature Center, the other one is in walking distance. A parent driving form has to be on record in the office.
Permission forms need to be filled out for both field trips. These are sent home to be signed and returned to school.
The law requires all children to be in a booster seat until they are 8 years old or 4'9" tall. Booster seats need to be brought into school on the day of the field trip. If your child does not use a booster seat I ask that you indicate this on the permission form.
